My wife did the research and used the Casino Chilliwack pages to organize everything — timing, dinner reservations, the works. The old man brought his own strategies, all of them terrible, all of them explained at length. He lost forty dollars with tremendous dignity and even more commentary. My mother-in-law, meanwhile, quietly won ninety and said nothing until the drive home, at which point she revealed it like a magician. Seventy-five years of marriage wisdom right there. He's demanded a rematch, she's agreed, and the whole family is placing side bets on her again. Some couples are just better television than Netflix.
